How do I describe my item when filling out the shipment form?
Your item description should be clear, specific, and detailed — while remaining easy to understand. Customs authorities around the world rely on your declared description to assess whether your shipment can enter the destination country. In recent years, customs checks have become increasingly stringent. Shipments with vague, generic, or inaccurate descriptions are now far more likely to be flagged, delayed, or returned.
To help avoid these issues, we’ve implemented a minimum of 20 characters in the item description field to prompt better declarations.
When describing your item, include details such as:
- Type
- Material
- Usage
- Brand
- Condition (new/used)
✅ Good Examples:
- Used Women’s Cotton Cap from Adidas
- New Men’s Apparel (Zara) – Jeans Bottoms
- Used Ceramic Teapot Set
- Apple iPhone 15 (New)
❌ Poor Examples:
- Personal Effects (used)
- Clothing old for wearing
- Food Paste instant no meat
- Gift for my nephew no battery
- Equipment for car
Please note:
Requests to change or update item descriptions after submitting the shipment form — especially once your item has been picked up or shipped — will not be entertained. Each change requires time-sensitive coordination with the courier or customs and may not be possible once in transit. These unnecessary follow-ups also affect our ability to assist shippers with urgent or complex issues.
Taking an extra minute now to declare your item accurately goes a long way in ensuring a smooth and delay-free shipping experience!
