My package is delayed! What do I do?
If you find no specific instructions in the parcel tracking details, your shipment may smoothly proceed without further action needed. Our suggestion is to patiently await potential guidance from Customs, unless the delay persists for another 3 days.
Sometimes, they already have guidance on your shipment and the information is still making its way to shippers through the communication network.
The different types of delays:
Delivery Exception
Delays caused by unavoidable circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, or other external factors. No action is required from the sender or recipient—shipment will resume transit once the delay is resolved.
Delay with action pending "Importer"
The term "Importer" typically refers the recipient. If the tracking page indicates that action is required from the importer, please ask your recipient to call their local FedEx office and provide the tracking number for your shipment: 7X1234567890.
Why Call Directly?
A direct call to the local FedEx facility often results in a faster resolution. While we can assist by relaying information, this additional step may introduce delays. We’re not ignoring you—we want to ensure your shipment gets delivered as quickly as possible!
If any further assistance is needed, feel free to reach out to us.
Delay with action pending "Sender"
Customs or FedEx requires additional information from the sender before your package can proceed with clearance.
Common Requirements & What They Mean:
A. Revised Commercial Invoice – This usually indicates that something in the original declaration was inaccurate or insufficient and needs to be corrected. Customs may require modifications to the declared value, description, or classification of the items.
B. Detailed Item Commodities – Customs may have flagged your shipment because the item list was too vague, incomplete, or inaccurate. More specific details (e.g., material, purpose, brand, etc.) may be required for clearance.
Delay with requirements, no specifications on whose action it is pending
Common Requirements & What They Mean:
A. Original Proof of Value – Customs may have noticed a discrepancy in the declared value and require supporting documents (e.g., purchase receipts, order confirmations) to verify the actual value of the item.
B. Recipient Uncontactable – The recipient may have been contacted by customs or FedEx but has not responded. The sender should reach out to the recipient to check if they have received any calls/emails and nudge them to respond. If the recipient is unresponsive, you may need to decide how to proceed.
C. Pending Duties & Taxes – If the shipment was sent with duties & taxes to be paid by the recipient (DDU - Delivered Duty Unpaid), FedEx will only release the package once the recipient makes the payment. The recipient should check their email or tracking updates and proceed with payment to avoid further delays.
What You Can Do:
If you're unsure about what to do and urgently need support, you may also reach out to FedEx directly with your tracking number to inquire about any available information on the shipment. This can often provide faster clarity on what is required. Alternatively, feel free to contact us, and we’ll assist you in providing the necessary information.
