### Why Standard can beat Postal on cost?
Both services calculate duties the same way, based on your item's declared value, HS code, and country of origin. So the real difference comes down to shipping rate, speed, and fees.

This is where it pays to compare. Postal carries no handling fee and no fuel surcharge, which is why it often works out cheaper on total landed cost. But that is not always the case.
